Hi Reader! π Happy MARCH newsletter day! Big happenings over here in my home office... After nearly 25 years in the industry and 3 years of going it alone, I've finally joined my friend Sarah Wunderlich over at Vacation Haven Travel! π₯³ See you later, InfinityTravelCo, hello VacationHavenVIP! What's this mean for you? New logo... new email address... new website... more coverage and backup for me... same everything else! This will be the last email newsletter coming from this email address, everything else from here on out will come from kathy@vacationhavenvip.com. You might not know this about me, but I'm a social creature at heart! Back when I lived in Chicago, I actually led a social club called MEETinCHICAGO that grew to nearly 2,000 members during my time there. Back before Facebook, we were planning events so folks could get together for happy hours, pub crawls, karaoke, archery, trapeze, musicals, concerts, tons of Cubs games, street festivals... you name it! I "hustled up the Hancock," climbing the stairs to the top of the John Hancock building with my MiC friends encouragement... heck, I was even a balloon handler for Rudolph in the Thanksgiving Day Parade! My favorite part was making introductions and connecting people. That's where the inspiration for "Connections by Kathy" came from. It was AMAZING... (and a little exhausting towards the end, if I'm being honest) LOL. But honestly, it's one of the things that I miss about living there. That, and the incredible friends that I bonded with. There was always something fun to do, and someone fun to do it with! In my "old age", I've slowed down a little, but I'm still energized by spending time chatting, traveling, and yes... even working with others. Working from home is AWESOME. Blizzard? Tornado? No problem. I don't have to leave the house if I don't want to. BUT - I miss the brainstorming, mutual support, and social interaction that comes from being part of a TEAM. Enter: Sarah Sarah and I have been friends since we met back in 1996 at my first travel agency job after travel school, Travel & Transport. 2026 marks 30 years of friendship. π«Ά Over the years, we worked at a couple of agencies together, traveled together, and then technology leveled the playing field with "host agencies" and we went it alone for a while. NOW, the timing is finally right for us to work together again! After the year that I've had, I'm ready for a change! My heart is healing, and I'm feeling more hopeful than I have in a while. I'm ready to start celebrating life again! βοΈ Some things on my radar right now:
So! What's new with you? What's on your radar? I read and respond to all emails, and would love to hear from you. If you're here in Lincoln, I hope you're enjoying this gorgeous weather! Get it while it's hot! It'll probably change again soon. I do hope last week's blizzard is our last one for a while. "Ain't nobody got time for that!" ~ That lady from the famous GIF. Cheers to this new chapter!! π₯ Kathy |
Hi! π How's it going? Enjoying this heat wave? π« We sure are! We've been staying busy this summer by updating our social media and working on this brand new newsletter! We tend to get so busy working behind the scenes that we sometimes forget to let you know that we're still around & still making travel dreams come true. So we're making an effort to do better, in that regard. Here's what we've been working on: Our newly updated Facebook Page is our public "billboard", as they call it. Just...
Hi friends, I wanted to share something fun Iβve been working on behind the scenes. Iβm hosting an adults-only cruise in July 1-6, 2026 from Miami to Key West and Bimini with Virgin Voyages. It originally came together around my 40th high school reunion, but it will be open to friends next week, too. Itβs easy, social, and a great fit if you like the idea of a relaxed getaway with built-in fun and very little planning stress. π View trip details + booking info If you have questions or want to...
Hi Reader! Happy Spring! How has your March been? β€οΈ Our first hyacinth of the year. β€οΈ It's been an interesting couple of weeks here. Life threw us another curveball with my Mom so we took a trip to see her down in Deshler. I'm so grateful that I have a career that gives me the flexibility to step away at a moment's notice and step up for her. It's one of the main reasons that I became an independent agent, actually. With today's technology, I can work from anywhere and my boss is the BEST!...
